· Melody—a series of pitches that happen one after the other

· Harmony2 or more pitches that happen at the same time (Remember it doesn’t have to be a pleasant sound)

· Rhythm– a combination of different lengths of sounds (& non sounds) that happen one after the other—  examples are quarter note, half rest, eighth note...

· Timbre—tone quality—examples are alto voice, bass voice, oboe, tuba, flute, trumpet, organ, piano, banjo...

· Form– how a particular piece of music is put together—examples are AB, Call and Response, ABA, ABACA...
