Hillcrest 5th grade students enjoyed demonstrating physical and chemical changes; mixtures and solutions. Students presented examples and the class identified it before enjoying popcorn with M&Ms, kool-aide, lemonade, trail mix, scrambled eggs and toast. Not all demonstrations involved food. Many other activities were shared. Steel wool was burned. Vinegar and baking soda, cokes and mentos were combined. Water was frozen and ice was melted. It was a fun, active two days.
