Miss Amelia Coalter
My name is Amelia Coalter (you can call me Miss Amelia or Miss Coalter), and I teach physical science here at OCCHS. I'm looking forward to spending the year helping you learn all about the world around you and how it works!
Here's a little bit about me:
I grew up in Indiana and graduated high school in 2012. That fall, I started college at UT Martin, and in 2016, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in geology. That means that I love rocks and earth processes, and you can definitely count on that being a part of your physical science class on occasion! After I got my bachelor's, I went back to school to get a master's degree in education, and I graduated with that in December of 2019.
Last October, I was approached about a teaching position here at OCCHS, and I accepted the job and began teaching in January of 2020. It's been a wild ride, but I've already learned so much, and I can't wait to see what this new year holds for us!
There's no doubt that this year will be a strange one. With everything going on in the world (but mostly the pandemic), count on things looking a little different, both in and out of the classroom. Rest assured that I (along with all your other teachers) am doing my very best to ensure that you as my student learn as much about physical science as I can in as safe a manner as possible.
So let's get started and make this our best school year yet!
You can always contact me during email or through Teams chat, but please allow 24 hours for a response. Fridays during my planning period, I will do my best to be available to answer any questions from parents or students.
I am not usually available during evenings or weekends to answer questions, but I will try to make myself available occasionally.
Teams chat is always open (through Microsoft Teams), and you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
