Mrs. Debbie Richardson
Hello everyone and welcome!
My name is Debbie Reynolds Richardson. I am a native of Bradford, Tennessee. Yes, that is the Doodle Soup Capital of the World! Ha Ha! I was a student at Bradford for all my 13 years and graduated valedictorian of Bradford High School. I played basketball for 6 years for the Bradford Devilettes. We won many district, regional, sub-state, and state titles. These are some of my best memories of my early years. Many, involving school spirit, dedication, and leadership in which I will forever be thankful for.
I am a Christian. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was 8 years old. My Faith is something I carry with me daily. I enjoy reading my Bible and learn something new each time I do. My faith has gotten me through many trials in my lifetime. My mom passed away with cancer when I was 13 years old, at the end of my 8th grade year. It was a very sudden illness. My dad and I got through this together only with God's love and grace. My dad has a wonderful testimony, and he is a hero to me.
I am married to Bryon Richardson. He works at Tennessee Tractor in Trenton,TN. Green means go! Ha!Ha! (John Deere Green) We live in Kenton, TN. I have two children who are both graduates of OCCHS. My son, Seth, is in the United States Air Force. My daughter, Maelyn, attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and is currently a pharmacy student in Nashville. I have two bonus daughters, Daisey and Aubrey. Daisey is a cosmetologist, and Aubrey is a student in the Gibson County School System.
Some of my hobbies include running and swimming. I also love to go to spin classes. I love fashion! I work at The Chocolate Bunny Boutique in Union City. I love the store, looking at the latest fashion, and helping customers. I love watching football. My color is orange! GBO! Go Vols!
I attended in the University of Tennessee at Martin and have a Masters of Education. I taught my first year in the Gibson County School System. I taught junior high Math at Ridgemont Elementary for 14 years. I transferred to OCCHS two years ago to teach Algebra 1. This is my third year to be here. I absolutely love this subject! One of my greatest accomplishments is hearing my students say that they appreciate and like Math better than they did before. Some even say LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents and students, I am here for you ALL! Please reach out to me if you have any concerns or questions. I want us to work together in order to make the Algebra credit attainable. I want to provide structure and lessons to help all students learn the standards that the state requires for Algebra 1. I expect my students to be respectful and work hard. I hope my parents will work with me to encourage their students. I will make sure that the teaching and support are there as we work together!
Thanks to all of you! I am blessed to be a part of Obion County Schools!
