Obion County Schools is proud to announce that Lake Road Elementary has been selected to receive a $10,000 Learning Environment Grant through the Tennessee Valley Authority's (Tennessee Valley Authority) EnergyRight School Uplift program.

The year-long School Uplift program helps schools reduce energy waste, improve efficiency, and create healthier learning environments for students and staff. Lake Road Elementary earned the grant through its commitment to energy-saving practices and participation in the program throughout the school year.

"This grant is another great example of TVA and Gibson County Electric's investment in our community," said Obion County Schools Director of Schools Timothy Watkins. "We are proud of our students and staff for their efforts, and we plan to use these funds to enhance our playground and improve opportunities for our students."

Over the past five years, more than 440 schools have completed the School Uplift program, helping schools save energy, reduce costs, and reinvest resources into student learning.

Congratulations to the students, staff, and leadership at Lake Road Elementary for this outstanding achievement!
